IMPORTANT

On the starting time of your lesson you need to be on Banderitsa Polyana on the mountain, this is the second (last) stop with the Gondola lift. You need approx. 30′ to arrive there. The Gondola lift opens at 08:00 while the cash desks to buy your ski pass open at 08:30 and they already have a queue. Plus, a second long queue after this to get in the Gondola. During peak periods we suggest our customers to be at the gondola lift’s queue even 2 hours earlier than their lesson time while they have already bought their ski pass, so they can arrive on time for their lesson. Check below the FAQs and learn more about how to avoid delays and save time.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ski & Snowboard Lessons in Bansko, Bulgaria

What Does a Lesson Include?

A ski or snowboard lesson includes tuition with the instructor only. You will need to book your equipment separately and purchase a ski pass in advance.

Where Do I Meet the Instructor?

Your instructor will meet you at Banderitsa Polyana, the second (final) station of the Gondola Lift.

How Can I Avoid Delays at the Gondola Lift?

During peak periods, the Gondola queue can be over 2-2.5 hours long, plus a 30-minute ride to the ski resort. To save time and avoid delays, we recommend:

  1. Evening Equipment Fitting
Visit us between 18:30-20:30 to get fitted for your equipment the evening before your lesson. We’ll have your gear ready for pick-up in the morning or stored at your hotel.
  2. Buy Your Ski Pass Early
Purchase your ski pass the day before to skip morning queues.
  3. Skip the Gondola – Use a Car or Shuttle
    • Drive to Banderitsa Polyana and park for approx. 20 BGN (cash). Be aware that parking fills up early.
    • Best Option: Our Shuttle Service
Enjoy a stress-free trip to the ski area with our shuttle service, which departs at a time convenient for you. Avoid queues and arrive on time for your lesson.

Do I Need a Ski Pass for My Lesson?

Yes, all lessons require a valid ski pass, even if you are using only the beginner lifts or skiing on short slopes.

Important Note:
A Gondola-only ticket does not include insurance. In case of an accident on the slopes, you may need to pay between €25-€300 for transportation to a medical center. For full coverage, we recommend purchasing a proper ski pass.

Can Children and Adults Join the Same Lesson?

Yes, children and adults can join family lessons, which focus on learning together and having fun. Please note that the pace of the lesson depends on the “weakest” participant's progress, especially for younger children.

What Do You Recommend for Kids Under 5?

We recommend starting with playful time on the snow to build familiarity and confidence:

  • Use playful plastic skis with straps that fit over regular shoes for toddlers.
  • If they’re ready, start with a 1-hour private lesson. Two-hour sessions may be too long for children under 5.

Our kids’ ski equipment starts at European size 24 (UK youth size 6), with skis as short as 70 cm.

Can We Combine Ski & Snowboard Lessons?

Ski and snowboard lessons are held separately with different instructors. While it is possible to combine these for family fun, we do not recommend this for beginners or those wanting structured, high-quality lessons.

You can book your lessons online or in-store:
